Google Inc. has acquired Motorola Mobility Holdings in $12.5 billions. This deal is one of the biggest deal done by the Internet gaint. Motorola which is known for its excellent build quality products will now work with the Google and with Android to be more exact.
Market Scenario..
This deal can be seen as another alarming deal done. Android which already rules majority of the smart-phones, marginally less than the Apple’s iPhone OS and far more than the Blackberry OS. The primary reason behind this popularity in so short span of time of Android is being it as a Open Source Project. Any open source project is far more better than its priced contemporaries. Be it MS Office Vs Open Office or Adobe Photoshop Vs GIMP Image Editor. The present situation is a win-win situation. Why because if Apple has Twitter, Microsoft has Facebook then, now Google has Motorola. Every gaint company has got an allie to help it to compete in the market. There are more people now browsing net from a mobile device than earlier and the count is still on.
What is going to happen..
Personally I feel that this deal is going to lower the price of the smart-phones, which is a key factor in the country like India. It is always easier to compensate with the price than with the features. If we take a look on the smart-phone companies no one seems to be lacking in the race. Microsoft has joined hands with htc, Blackberry has launched a super Playbook, Samsung has a complete new version of Galaxy Tab, LG has introduced slimest smart phone. And now perhaps the leap will be taken by the Google. No doubt that iPhone Os is one of the best in its interface, Blackberry is best in security of the datas and informations, but the price is a barrier in country like India(although Blackberry has launched a 8520 model at 9K but the phone has optimum specifications) . Lets hope this ambitious deal is in the favour of the Indian customers and the price of the next motorola android phone comes at a price of Levis Jeans.
